This website provides information to help understand the Vermont Communications Board’s plan for statewide interoperability.
The Vermont Communications Board was established through Executive Order to meet the Congressional Mandate of Interoperable Communications for all first responders. Our goals are to:
- Provide good to excellent land mobile radio coverage
- Minimize new construction and permitting challenges
- Allow first responders to maintain their own radio systems with access to an interoperable network
- Keep the financial investment practical
The Vermont Communications Board is a diverse group of stakeholders from local, county, state, federal, military and non-governmental organizations. We are working to meet our goals and provide Vermont’s first responders with a common sense, fiscally responsible interoperable radio communications platform known as the Vermont Communications Lifeline. The Lifeline System will establish intrastate, interstate and international interoperability for first responders and stakeholders.
